With nearly 35 years of healthcare experience, Bette has served as a consultant and coach with the BLG, a HealthStream® company since early 2001. She works with client hospitals across the US and Canada to improve their service delivery and operational protocols, including extensive work with rural hospitals. She was integral in transforming Baptist Hospital from a local, struggling organization in 1995 to an industry leader and best practice organization, and brings that day-to-day knowledge to bear for her clients. A charismatic speaker for large and small audiences, Bette is known for her quick wit and the “here’s-how-it-really-is” stories. Her insights into organizational collaboration, service excellence standards of performance and meaningful measurement have helped her clients achieving advanced stages of cultural excellence.
Bette has served in a multitude of roles throughout her 18 year career with Baptist Health Care, most recently as Director of the Neuroscience Service Line where she had direct responsibility for the growth in contribution margin, patient satisfaction, and physician recruitment, alignment and engagement. She established the BHC Spine Center at the Andrews Institute and was the leader of the Spine Team, as well as the Baptist Memory Disorder Clinic. Bette was an active participant on the Physician Engagement Team and also the Operating Room Value Analysis team, which was created to review, revise and establish cost efficiencies within surgical services. 
In 1995, when Baptist Health Care launched its journey to patient-centered excellence, Bette held several key roles including director of Membership Services, team leader of Baptist Hospital’s first patient satisfaction Measurement Team, and member of the Standards Team. She has served as resource analyst for physicians and Director of the Senior Service Line. In 1998 Bette was named a Baptist Health Care Legend, the highest level of recognition for employee service, for her volunteer work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Bette is a registered Radiologic Technologist, and holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of West Florida.
